Pink reveals that she drunk-emailed Eminem about collaborating
FWS - Despite being a Grammy Award winner herself, Pink has admitted that in order to ask Eminem to collaborate with her, she needed a bit of liquid courage.
The Trouble singer revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that her new collaboration with the 8 Mile rapper, entitled Revenge, came into being after she wrote up an email following quite a bit of wine drinking.
'I sneak-attacked him. Max [Martin] and I started making Revenge, and I wrote this rap. We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea,' she said.
After a few more glasses, Pink decided that it would be an even better idea to reach out to one of the world's most famous rappers and make her case.
'I emailed [Eminem]. This is why they call it liquid courage. And I said, "You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me,"' she said.
After shooting off her 'love letter' in a tipsy haze, Pink was surprised to get a reply almost immediately.
'It was this long email, and he wrote back right away and just said, "Okay,"' she said.
Pink's latest album, Beautiful Trauma, was released on Friday October 13, and includes the fiery Eminem cameo on a track all about getting revenge on a cheater.
The lyrics to the rap are typically aggressive, including: 'So when you're driving to his house and you pass me while I'm driving a hearse. Just remember: you cheated on me first. You're a w***e. You're a w***e. This is war.'
Pink sings: 'I know that it won't fix a thing / A song like this that I could sing for you. All the feels you make me do /A nightmare f***ing coming true / I wish I was a lawyer, I would sue you.'
Despite the lyrical content, the song is actually a bubbly and fun slice of pure pop quite outside of Eminem's usual fare.
The Detroit rap icon has been making headlines over the last week for his biting anti-Trump freestyle rap broadcast during the BET Hip Hop Awards, where he blasted the president on topics including NFL, the border wall, hurricane relief and more. (dailymail)
